Horizon Capital has recently successfully completed the development and sell-out of four AAA-grade sectional title office buildings in Century City. On each project, a full team of top professionals and construction workers was employed, overseen by Horizon Capital’s own in-house team of property professionals.
“Through the policy of utilising local labour and skills training on site, we were able to create in excess of 300 direct new job opportunities in 2012, in line with government’s drive for job creation” says John Witter, CEO of Horizon Capital. The effect of job creation is multiplied when one takes into account the number of indirect jobs which were created as a knock-on effect in the manufacturing of building materials.
Horizon Capital has now started construction on its fifth development, Ibis House, at The Estuaries in Century City. Ibis House will offer top quality office space ranging in size from 125 to 1400 m² and is ideally positioned opposite the Crave coffee shop, set in beautifully landscaped gardens. Century City boasts extensive public transport links, excellent security, and a wide range of neighbouring amenities. Completion of Ibis House is expected in mid-2014.
In all of Horizon’s developments to date, green building initiatives have been included in the design, with a focus on energy and water efficiency in order to reduce operating costs and improve the working environment for occupants. For their latest development, they are targeting a 4 Star Green Star Design Rating from the Green Building Council of South Africa. “This would make Ibis House unique in that it will offer certified green office space for small and medium tenants,” says Witter.
